#catholicdecor Good Morning Insta Family! **LONG POST ALERT!** How many of you have completely changed your home decor style? I went from Country Primitive to an elegant French Country with a touch of Farmhouse in a matter of a few months! (We've been busy!) Needless to say, I am working with a neautral color palette now in our home which gives a more serene, peaceful vibe. I'm enjoying the process and taking my time...slowly filling our home with traditional elegance. Hard to believe it all started with painting our walls a lighter color and it evolved rather quickly from there. On a personal note...since my husband and I recently reverted back to our Catholic faith, I have been filling our home with French antique religious relics and some new reproduction ones. Over 70. That's how many houses we visited before we found the one we would call our home. With each house we visited, we prayed to St. Joseph for a sign. Sometimes we'd see a crucifix in a room and ask ourselves, "Is this a sign?" We prayed a novena to St. Joseph and wondered if we'd ever find a house that fit our criteria and felt like "the one." Months later, we stumbled across this blue house with a big yard and lots of room to grow our family. We didn't see a physical sign, but felt peace that this was it. A week later, our offer was accepted.......on St. Joseph's feast day! (of last year) ⠀ Thank you, St. Joseph, for leading us to our home. Though I complain and stress out about the maintenance and the bills that pile up for unforeseen issues, I trust that you brought us here for a reason. And here we will stay until God leads us elsewhere. ❤️ #justloveintroduction

Why is it that we most easily remember the hard times? . . The renovating process was not an easy or fun process most of the time- with long hours of monotonous work...peeling paint, spackling, sanding, respackling, resanding, painting, repainting and repainting and repainting... . We were uncomfortable- freezing cold or sweating hot with pain in all places and dirt on all things. . We were running on empty most of the time- from long days at work to working on the house until way past our bedtime and relying completely on the generosity of others to have a place to sleep and shower... . . People would say, “you’re living the dream.” Mark and I would look at each other and laugh, a sarcastic laugh. . Those renovating days were hard. . It’s easy to remember all the challenges. . . When I was looking back through the videos of the living room renovation, I was reminded of the great times that I totally forgot about. (See story highlight) . The videos capture something beautiful amidst all the craziness. In all the challenges- we still found ways to laugh, still found ways to be our goofy selves, and perhaps the most beautiful part is as simple as this: . . We’ve been through it all together. ❤️
