I’ve been having trouble coming up w anything to say lately because my brain & life is SOOO consumed by nursing school! I love every bit of it though . it kind of seems oxymoronic to be a patient & a nurse but to me, taking care of others is always the best medicine. but truly, taking a full course load, clinicals, working full time, and doctors appts is a LOT, I wish I had time to nap some days, but I am just happy to be out, about, and on my feet! here’s to new beginnings . also: I’m not wearing my brace full time right now & I keep it off during school & rotations, but I do wear it the rest of the time & in combo with PT I’m feeling better! Today may seem like a Norma day for you, but for me- January 22nd will forever be a day that drastically impacted and changed my life. Today I CELEBRATE the year anniversary of breaking my neck. It was by far the hardest and most devastating day o had experienced. The pain physically, emotionally and mentally still haunt me. I still suffer from PTSD and often have panic attacks behind the wheel. But today is a HUGE milestone- I survived. Not just literally, but I came out stronger, healthier and happier. It caused me to change things for the better. To appreciate the little things. To love my family more than I ever had, to not take them for granted and most importantly- to stop and be grateful for my life and all the wonderful things God has blessed me with. I’m not saying it was an easy year, that damn neckbrace was a pain in the ass!
