Does anyone else ‘confuse’ people?
I find people don’t understand how I can run a 5k one day then not be able to do anything the next? My friends sometimes think I’m playing them and just being awkward when they see my Facebook page and I’m being active but then I say I can’t go out dancing in the evening.
Invisible illness doesn’t work conventionally. It doesn’t realise you sometimes want to do more than one thing per day. Sometimes it does get the memo and I can go for a few days then wake up and regret all of it because I can’t move.
I feel like it’s such a fine line all the time of knowing how much you can do in one day that won’t mess you up the next.
Do you feel the same?

This post from @spoonie_village spoke to me. I love it’s like a conversation you want to have with people to make them understand - although I don’t think they ever would. .

WHAT a weekend. Practically bursting with joy from having the energy to spend time with so many of my close friends from elementary and high school. We talk and text just about everyday, but most of us live in different cities, so real-life hangs are a special treat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Six months ago, I attended another wedding but struggled with Lyme symptoms to make it through the festivities. For this past weekend's celebration of @thelovelylodown and @rightfieldryan’s forever love, I made it to all the events and even busted out some moves on the dance floor! It was a wonderful reminder of how far I've come in my recovery journey. While I'm not quite 100% (aka I'll need the next few days to recover), I'm getting closer and closer to feeling like I did in those good (energetic and social) old days. ✨photo by the talented: @imnickhoward

I’ve been shying away from Instagram since I got home from the Oley Conference because I’ve noticed something...
I’ve noticed that lots of the posts that get the most engagement (including my own) are those fueled by frustration and anger. And while I very much embrace those emotions and feel they need to be shared when they arise, they are absolutely not what fill me up on a day to day basis.
I’ve found myself wracking my brain trying to think of things that drive me bananas that probably also drive you bananas (there’s plenty of these things, but they don’t motivate me to write every single day.) I try to come into this space with education, encouragement, and support. And I’m working hard to produce more content along these terms because I’ve been very shy and afraid lately to be completely transparent.
So I just wanted to pop my face in to say hi, and remind you that these are the things that inspire me to be here, and I am working on filling my cup back up with beneficial things to bring for this community that is lovely and thriving.
What inspires you to be here? I want to hear all about it
Hey! I did a thing
•
This idea has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Living with chronic illness for the majority of my life, I’ve learned that community is important because illness can be very isolating. But what happens when you feel like you don’t fit anywhere? I decided it was time to create a place for myself and others that feel this way.
I have always loved all things weird and witchy, and believe there is great power in positivity and being mindful.
I put these things together to make a safe space for people fighting chronic battles that need al little magic in their lives.
•
So, If you live with chronic illness, mental health, disability, invisible illness or just love witchy aesthetic, sarcasm and honesty, this is the place for you!
Welcome to @thechroniccoven
•
Here to uplift, share fun and simple “rituals”, personal experiences from living with chronic illness, and encouraging others to live their best witchy lives despite their circumstances.
Because being there for each other in every season of life truly is magic✨
•
Disclaimer: you don’t have to identify as a “witch” to be a part of this coven. All are welcome

⚡✔ @chronically_cheerful : "There is no one☝️”right” road to take you on your journey When your path looks nothing like those of people around you, it’s easy to doubt your direction and your next stepDuring my own winding #healingjourney filled with detours, misdirections and turnabouts I’ve learned there is rarely any one step that defines or defies all progress. Sometimes, what feels like going down the “wrong” path is the only way to find out what direction you need to be heading in So #believeinyourself and #trusttheprocess — your route is not leading you astray Every decision, no matter a seemingly ➕ or ➖ outcome, is an essential part of your unique journey

⭐ I LOVE OUR NEW SISTER SO FREAKIN MUCH ❣➡️ @ms_fighting_mom : " Last summer I retired from teaching. I had just turned 35 and it was a hard decision that some colleagues, friends, and family didn’t understand. Some people even said they were jealous I was able to stay home and many want to know my secret. So, I’ve decided to share it!
•
Are you ready?!
.
.
Here’s the secret...
•
I am sick. Permanently. There’s no cure. ♀️
•
So instead of teaching 6 year olds all day, I am trying to stay alive in a body that wants to shut down. Completing any task takes longer than it used to because my brain and limbs just don’t work the same anymore. I take naps several times a week and stretch out my tight muscles multiple times a day. I never know how I’ll feel from one day to the next; I can wake up feeling great one morning and like I was ran over by a bus the next.
•
Do you have any idea how exhausting that is? Hopefully you don’t.
•
Remember, NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISIBLE! We may look good on the outside and be self destructing on the inside. Be kind ❤️"
REVOLUTIONARY IDEA FROM @mindfulmigraine : "New life policy ✌️ ...if only it was that easy!! but really — how often are other people’s ideas of what you could or should be doing stressing you out and making you feel bad? this is something I struggle with *a lot* and a gentle self reminder that nobody but me understands fully the cost of certain activities on my body helps so much to drop some of the heavy weight a backpack full of judgment can accumulate "
