I don’t have science to back up claims made about drinking celery juice. And that’s fine with me. Because I DO have over 1.5 years experience drinking it daily & watching my health transform. Today is 3 months since the biggest decision I’ve ever made in my life. I suffered chronic pancreatitis for years, bouncing in and out of hospitals all throughout high school, this year I decided that after graduation, I would put an end to this by receiving a TP-IAT (total pancreatectomy with auto islet cell transplant) removing my spleen, gallbladder, and pancreas while moving my islet cells that produce insulin in my pancreas, to my liver. Causing me to become diabetic. This has been the most difficult thing to overcome and stay strong through. This has been the worst 3 months of my life but i only view it as the next step for the rest of my life. It is by the grace of God that i was able to fight through this. The lord gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers and will never give you a task you cannot overcome! I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family and most of all my parents. I’m still recovering everyday but so happy to say that I will never ever have pancreatitis EVER again!!!! :) #freeindeed

A room with a view ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This handsome dude just got done with what was either his 23rd or 24th ERCP procedure {honestly they all blend in together after a while}. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But yes, you read that right. Over the past five years we have been here 20 plus times to get the same procedure done. Stents go in and stents come out all so C-Money can eat actual food and not be on a central line. His pancreatitis is caused by a CTRC gene mutation that is pretty rare and there’s not much literature on it. ⁣So this is what we do every 3-6 months depending on what his body does/tells us.⁣ ⁣⁣ For those of you wondering, C-Money’s Sanfilippo and pancreatitis do not correlate. “Out of order” is too real right now. I have pancreatitis AGAIN. We are hoping that running additional fluids is enough to bring my enzymes back to normal levels instead of risking the weightloss that comes with the 3 days off of J feeds that it usually takes to allow my pancreas to heal. Typically J tube feedings are ideal for most pancreatitis patients, as bypassing the stomach and feeding into the intestine does not stimulate the pancreas as much. Apparently I am not most patients because I do that daily and still keep getting reoccurring pancreatitis. ‍♀️ In other news, the next post for digestive tract paralysis awareness month is up on the blog. I thought about how often we say our body parts suck, whatever body part isn’t working can go eff itself, and so on. How many times have a written #fuckcancer? While it’s true, having a dis-ease BLOWS and blows hard, it probably can’t hurt to be nicer to our body parts that are having a hard time functioning properly. Cancer is still our body parts and pancreatitis is still our body; albeit our body not functioning in balance. ⚖️ So I thought maybe let’s try something. Let’s love on Nama’s mis-firing pancreas. Let’s lighten the vibes surrounding her illness. Not to poke fun or make it seem any less serious, but to lighten the oh-so heavy vibes that surround her. ✨ As I learned when Laker had cancer, you can’t see your contorted worried face, but your dog sure can. Hiding your pain is just a mask that they see right through. Instead, I’m going to try to lighten the situation while staying completely serious about the severity of it. We have our ultrasound in the morning tomorrow. If you don’t mind, leave a prayer/good vibe/meditation/blessing for a miracle for her. My ideal situation is that they find a thriving healthy pancreas, stomach and gall bladder that just has a little trouble digesting sometimes.
