Recently I've been reading a lot of self-improvement books and I keep finding myself applying the lessons and concepts I'm learning to the most important thing in my life -parenting. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've always been a proponent of Peaceful/Respectful Parenting and right now I'm just feeling so driven to educate myself and improve myself as a mom in whatever way I can. I think, for me, the thing that just keeps resonating is this: we make so many choices and decisions everyday- they can be made in fear or they can be made in love. Choose love, always always choose love. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's so important to trust your love and bond as a parent ... sometimes when the kids are really testing boundaries or struggling to express themselves respectfully it's so difficult not to respond with a sharp word. But when I did before, I always had this unsettled feeling ... that intuition that it just wasn't me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, my commitment to my kiddos and to myself is to act in love. Dallas Knight Age: 11  ** How many years have you been a student at The Viera Studio? ** I have never attended classes at The Viera Studio, although a lot of people I know have. I am so excited to be a part of their program in the new year!  ** What is your favorite class or your favorite type of performing? ** My favorite type of performing is singing. I have been singing since I can remember and love performing live! I have recently been bitten by the acting bug and have worked on two Indie films and two music videos.  ** Any other fun hobbies or cool things to share? ** I love playing guitar, love to draw, have an obsession with making slime and TikTok videos with my besties!   ** About Connect NYC ** A group of eight students were selected from auditions to have the experience of a lifetime. They will receive private instruction in voice, dance and acting from January through May, preparing them to perform in front of talent managers and agents in New York City. They also will participate in workshops and classes on Broadway, and attend a Broadway show.  It's a chance for talent from Brevard County to connect with opportunity in the Big Apple. Several students on previous trips have been signed and worked on everything from Broadway shows to commercials, TV and print projects.
