Finished my sketch finally from last Saturday. I went to the 5th birthday celebrations of @withonevoicechoirs at Hamilton Town Hall in Brisbane. We met one of the choir members while our on a sketch with @urbansketchersbrisbane at New Farm a few weeks ago, she told us all about the concert and invited us to come along. I’m so glad I did! I had the best time :) the performances where beautiful from high energy toe tappers to powerful emotional stories of heart breaking and triumphant experience. Everything about he afternoon was brilliant... and the food! Wonderful :) I’ve included pics of the info cards if a community choir is something they you’d like to be involved in. The Brisbane chapter meets every Wednesday in the basement of City Hall (not as grim as it sounds, I believe it’s where the Red Cross Tea Rooms are ☺️). Oh yeah... also rare selfie of me taken with one of the performers, he was quite the character! A quick note on the style of this sketch: I’ve been having some issues with my sketching pen (if you’ve been following my posts you’ll be up on the saga lol) so I only pencil sketches this on location (went to the hall early to get some sketching in before the concert ) so didn’t do any inking until I was at home... where I got thoroughly confused with all my smudged lines... it fast turned into a problem solving exercise and I turned to an artist who’s style I admire greatly for inspiration @abottlefullofrain.
