The work place as we know it is undergoing drastic changes with design and architectural firms revolutionising the way we use work spaces. Halle A by Designliga is yet another example of a different spin on the modern-day office. Although it may not necessarily push the boundaries quite as far as companies like Google have, the 650m2 former metal shop has been completely reworked to offer an unusually pleasant and ergonomic office space for those it houses. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The vast volume of the 10.4-m-high hall has been broken up into distinct zones and functional areas, providing an intimate feel to the large interior. Two houses with sloping roofs were placed in the hall, recalling the atmosphere of a village square. Serving as a meeting place for the staff but also as a divide between workspaces, the cottages help to create intimacy albeit without formal boundaries. The top floor of the space houses the two conference and meeting rooms in the old foreman’s office. The kitchen is designed as a private room for staff, while the library is where visitors are received and spontaneous meetings are held. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Designliga’s office space encourages creativity to be a natural part of life by blurring the lines between home comforts and an office. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Please save us a couple of desks guys. Woman-focused coworking space The Wing made its L.A. debut last month and the new space has us anxious for a visit! It even comes complete with an expansive terrace, pictured above. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The company is part of a wave of shared workspaces striving to resemble the posh social clubs of yore—spaces where people are coming not just to work and network, but also to feel like part of a community. As a brand founded by women, @the.wing and its majority female staff have created a space where women can not only work but also thrive. The 11,000-square-foot space offers more than an open concept workspace needed to get down to business. Think free coffee, kiddie programming, conference rooms (named after notable women), a lending library, a beauty room, an in-house cafe (which serves goods from women-owned businesses and features wines made by female wine makers), a lactation room, and - the big draw for many - a calendar full of members-only events for professional lady people. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you're a female boss looking for a new space to connect and collaborate, check out The Wing and get inspired! A 2018 Best of Year winner for office design, this mid-size office by LYCS Architecture upped the ante for the firm: to design a cutting edge workspace befitting an industry-leading company. The firm used the architecture of a three-building, 295,000-square-foot complex as the jumping-off point for a new vision. The idea unified exterior and interior spaces, beginning with the sunny atrium lobby, topped by a trapezoidal skylight and wrapped in glass.
