One of my favorite parts of making jewelry is selecting which gemstone to use next. Each one has its own story to tell. Each inclusion in a stone is part of the song. Some gems require a more sculptural look, while others shine bright in a simple setting. Adding uncommon textures makes a piece have something special that only handmade can accomplish. The juxtaposition of smooth, classic looking details paired with something unusual makes my heart beat just a little bit faster. ▪️ . There is really nothing like a handmade ring, forged in fire and made carefully by hand. Each one of my rings carries the signature of the maker, me. I read once something to the effect that an artist or designer’s work on earth is finite. We live and we eventually die. The amount of work we can make is limited. So it should be cherished. It’s special and it’s numbered, unlike the mass manufactured, mold-made assembly line goods of the world which seem to be endlessly filling our landfills...nothing too special, made to be replaced and forgotten. It’s one reason I most love working in solid gold—it retains value and can be treasured and even transformed over time....it doesn’t fade away or disintegrate. It wears well, and it’s incredibly durable. Literally after the first class, I started seeing 11:11 on the clock. Every. Day. And now just seeing 11 everywhere. Soooo I started looking in to it more. According to numerology, the number 11 is a “master number” which signifies intuition, insight, and enlightenment. When paired together, 11 11 is a clear message from the universe to become conscious and aware. Many people suggest that seeing 11 11 signifies that your spirit guides are attempting to contact you. In my experience, 11 11 seems to be the number of spiritual awakening, signifying that you are on the right path and your actions are aligned with your Soul’s purpose.
