Q: What do you keep your thermostat on during the summer!? So far we’ve been at a steady 70 but I have a feeling we’ll be hitting the 60’s soon.... .

I’m in awe that we’re already into JUNE of this year. Half way into 2019 already, seriously? It’s these summer months that have me wishing I lived in Alaska. I walk outside and my glasses fog up from humidity, and I break a sweat trying to buckle Ezra into his car seat ♀️

A little update for you...this year I wanted to be ever present. I wanted to slow WAY down so I can cherish these days with my new family (every mother I spoke to when I was pregnant said these dasy FLY by). Some of you know this but i’ve taken this year off of weddings. It was a decision I wrestled with for so long last year as I absolutely love what I do and I love my couples so so much. But, both Jordan and I felt like it was the right thing to do and came to a place of feeling so much peace about the decision. But to say it was a hard decision is an understatement (I shed a lot of tears). I have THE hardest time saying “no” to things and I’ve had to do it on a level that I never thought I could. It’s stretched me so much. It’s crazy how a sweet little life can make you change and do things you never thought were possible. It’s been such a sweet season and I’m so looking forward to having weekends this summer together and a lot more days free to just be with Woods and Jordan. And although I am still working (photographing portraits, commercial, workshops, branding etc. and working my oil biz (what’s allowed me to step back this year i’m so beyond grateful for this season and definitely do not take the fact that I am able to do this for granted.
Thank you @soilandstem for the little push to think about doing this last year. So grateful to you for sharing your journey. I wanted to share the same in case it spoke to any soon to be mamas out there. : @valglidden
