Nobody likes to make mistakes but I’ve found recently that I’ve enjoyed embracing them. I know that I personally learn more from the drawings where something goes wrong vs the ones where everything goes right and this piece was a perfect example of that. Just as I was finishing this yesterday afternoon I added four little houses onto the hillside and then instantly regretted it. I spent a little bit of time thinking about what I could do to fix it and decided to cover them up using a @carandache luminance pencil and a @stabilo crayon, then to balance it out I added the trees around the house and I love the contrast between the sweeping painted landscape and the soft pencil. It’s also the first time I’ve used these chunky @stabilouk crayons and liked the outcome so I’ll be using them again over the top of gouache. How do you feel about making mistakes?
