We were at the Grandball room of Oriental Hotel strategizing and having last minute briefs and details with our Corporate client in preparations for their event scheduled to hold on Friday July 27th. Some of the activities done by an Events Manager is; 1. Getting in touch with all vendors both the ones sourced by client and the ones by planner 2. Run down of time flow/agenda for the day 3. Design and Total Ambience for the day 4. Seat reservations and recognition of dignitaries to be present. These n much more are efforts we put in place to see to the total execution of an event. Its been such a looong but productive day in the life of a #corporateevents manager. So last week, I was sharing with you all the chronicles of a corporate event , surprisingly that post landed me a job to manage a conferenxe for next week in Wheat baker Hotel,Ikoyi. So here was how I spent part of the day, doing a survey to the hall space and mapping out how we will be positioning items/ seating the guests. Part ofnthe behind the scenes activities we have done for This upcomjng event is sending invitation cards to listed attendees, follow ups and confirming them. Media wall, backdrop design all is in check. Tea break/Snacks is been confirmed. Speakers , Slides presentations all checked. Sourcing of single bucket sofas etc. These and much more are the activities we do as a #corporateevent manager. Most times we only show you the D day execution and coordination by the team. Planning a Corporate event is very interesting but you must pay very much attention to details, maintain good communication skills and exude some form of confidence and decorum at all times. Afterwards, back at Ikeja for the vendors meeting in preparation of SAPONARIA PARTNERS MEET 2019, coming up on Saturday August 3rd. Vendors Meeting is one key activity we do not take for granted, despite having our regular vendors on board this project. We ensure we communicate the full briefs of event through the eyes of the clients to the vendors. We do not allow any vendor to sleep on a bicycle. We also had mock setups created by the event designer and table settings by the caterer.
