If you have had dermal filler you would recognise that there are 2 different delivery methods - Needle and Cannula! So what is the difference? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The most obvious is that cannulas have a blunt, curved end and needles have a sharp beveled tip! The other differences are that cannulas are less likely to penetrate veins, so there is less bruising. Instead, cannulas are more likely to push veins and arteries aside causing fewer complications. In addition, cannulas are longer, allowing for fewer entry points in the Skin, making it more comfortable and less down time for the client. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Needles on the other hand, are good for really precise injections that are deeply placed in the skin. They can also pierce through anything, so are often associated with more swelling and bruising. Some injectors like the precision with needle and they are the most traditional forms of dermal filler delivery.
