Liz shares - Good morning everyone. I just wanted to share my journey with everyone. I started these plant based supplements on November 20th, 2017. I was the biggest skeptic. The only thing I changed when I started was my water intake and take my supplements consistently. I took one blue and one orange in the morning and early afternoon. In the evening I took 2 detox supplements. I tried my best to drink 128 oz of water every day. Sometimes I drank it all and sometimes I got quarter in. My first week I lost 6 lbs. I would have lost 9 had it not been Thanksgiving! I lost my dad 4 years ago. He had diabetes for as long as I can remember. His battle is my life lesson. If not for yourself, do it for your kids. The other day I posted an Instagram story asking you all what you struggle most with when it comes to healthy eating and many of you responded with regards to cravings I tried my best to provide you with tips on my story but I think it’s important I go a bit more in depth because your body knows itself better than you do, if you’re craving something it’s likely you’re deficient in some kind of nutrient, keep reading to learn how to read your body ⤵️ . 1️⃣Sugar and sweets: generally, the more sugar you eat, the more you’ll crave it. Craving sugary foods isn’t exactly indicative of any form of deficiency in your body, besides whole fruit and veg next time you crave something sweet, reach for some fresh fruit or make a fruit and veg smoothie! . 2️⃣Chocolate: craving chocolate every so often is normal, but if you find yourself constantly craving it, that could be a sign of a magnesium deficiency try adding raw cacao powder to your diet, it’s great in smoothies! Other foods high in magnesium are spinach and kale, chickpeas and black beans, raspberries and bananas . 3️⃣Carbs: check in with your sleep, are you sleeping enough? Are you sleeping well? Sometimes when you don’t get enough sleep, your body craves carbs as a quick source of energy generally, regular exercise, regulating sleep and eating more protein rich foods will help curb that carb craving . 4️⃣Salty foods: your body needs sodium. This is usually indicative of dehydration ( especially is your craving is after exercise or on a hangover ) drink lots of water first, if you’re salty craving still persists, opt for some lightly salted popcorn, nuts or other naturally salty foods . 5️⃣Fatty or fried foods: this could mean your diet is lacking in essential fatty acids ( omega-3 and omega-6 ), which you do not obtain from fatty or fried foods, but they cause a similar reaction in your body as healthy fats instead of succumbing to fries, have some healthy fats like fish, nuts and seeds ( nut and seed butters are good too ), or avocado! .
