Ramadan Part 3 of 3 . So. I did put a fair amount of time into this masjid, which I'm quite proud of. To see the joy and screams of excitement that erupted from my children at the sight of it. Today's day 10 of ramadan for us and they've been cooped up in there full time with their Qurans, books and toys and persisted on having read aloud times only in there. So worth it Alhamdulillah. . . As for the build: Although I really would love to obtain the wooden one next time inshaAllah, I purchased the cardboard dome kit from my talented friend @my1stmasjid this year. It came with the little cardboard cutouts which I spray painted gold. For the frame I used pvc pipes and joins rather than timber because it was easier to assemble and disassemble - although I'm quite sure the kids mean for it to have a permanent spot in our home after ramadan. ☺️ I used sheets, fairy lights and fake plants I had at home to accessorise. And the posters inside are both from @poppetry_shop . . The calender was a diy idea I got off pinterest and @the_modestlife helped with the finer details - baarakAllahu feek friend ❤️. I just had the tags custom made by someone on etsy because I couldn't find anything like it (strange hey?). . My main purchase this year was the gorgeous plaque by @studionayma . Yes, this investment was entirely for me and yes, I would call it an investment ☺️ - I mean we are allowed some things for ourselves, am I right? And the beautiful geometric moon and stars were gifted by my dear friend @zedandq . I am in love with all of these versatile wooden hangings which we can reuse year after year inshaAllah. . . That concludes my three posts on our ramadan corner! Apologies as I couldn't quite fit everything I wanted to say into one and it took me a while to post . . Ramadan Mubarak to you all from Australia! I pray you have a blessed month (or the next 20 days) filled with ibadah and good deeds, laughter and joy, peace and tranquillity. May Allah enable us all to reap the benefits of this beautiful month of mercy with good health and sincerity, overlook our shortcomings and accept our acts of worship. . . Allahumma Ameen. With love, Yusra Xxx

How many times have you wanted something but you’ve been too scared to step out of your comfort zone? Or you just feel like you won’t be able to do it, you’re not capable enough. I know that feeling, really well. I received some great advice today. So cliche, and something I tell myself often but never truly moves me a lot. ‘Step out of your comfort zone’. This tip was given by someone today and it hit me differently, maybe because I heard it from another person rather than myself. When I reflected on that I realised how taking very small ‘risks’ by doing something you wouldn’t usually, or fighting anxious thoughts of ‘not being able to do it’ ‘not being good enough’ and doing it, being good, showing your best self; can really make a big difference. It made a difference for me. I had been searching for an opportunity for a few years and because I truly stepped out of my comfort zone (and wanted to quit along the way) but I didn’t quit. And it got me to that opportunity. I had those thoughts ‘it’s not for you’ ‘there’s no point in trying because you won’t make it’ all sat at the front of my mind; I pushed them to the back. Nights I’d be full of anxiety even when things were going well, and thinking I don’t deserve such opportunities. I pushed myself. I got there - opportunity after opportunity, I finally felt like I found the right one. Something that involved my own self growth and improving my skills which is my biggest focus at this point in my life. So there’s my example to you for today, whatever it is, push yourself a little further. The box that you’re in, that comfort zone confines you to those 4 walls. You can’t see what’s beyond that box. You can’t see any further than the little space you’re in. Only the moment you step out, will you see. Your curiosity increases. You, grow. - theheartsfragments

All of our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them - Walt Disney A year ago @bloomingtulipevents was only a dream of mine. An idea. But Alhamdulillah, with hard work, late nights and the support, encouragement and guidance of my tribe, that dream became a reality. On Sunday, we held our first event. It feels good to have one under the belt. But we’re just getting started, Insha Allah. I pray that Allah puts baraka in our work and make @bloomingtulipevents a benefit to the community. Ameen.
