It’s been grey skies and muggy wet weather all week in NYC. To freshen things up around here, this is my fabric pull for my first commissioned project. I won’t take credit for putting these together. I’ve been really challenged this morning after reading @burleighsandboots blog post! First off, let me just say what an honest and beautifully written post it is, so please do go and check it out ✨⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In this little world of Instagram it can be so easy to get fixated on likes, follows and the algorithm, I find myself getting sucked in sometimes. But I began thinking this morning, why are we so obsessed about this? I love my Instagram platform, but it’s not my everything. My everything is my faith, church, spending time with my husband, family, friends, playing with my kitten, making memories, my health, being at one with nature and SO much more. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My blog and Instagram have been incredible and have really helped me get through what has been a very difficult 7 months. I’m so grateful! But, I don’t want my platform to become a place where all I worry about is the algorithm, shoutouts and being liked. I want my space on the Internet to be authentic, raw, honest, where I talk about my faith, where I talk about endometriosis, help others to get through times that feel challenging, make deep friendships and be an inspiration!⁣⁣ ⁣ So please, if I’m ever fading away from being 100% me, give me a nudge, tell me to rest, stop worrying about posting all the time, take a break to be with the people I love, to be authentic and be in the moment.
