♀️ Why am I standing here in a towel with sopping wet hair? Let’s discuss. Your in shower routine is just as important as your out of shower routine. This is my biggest #CurlyTIP I still give today.
Got frizz? Here are a few things you need to pay attention to before your drying process begins.
1)Are you cleansing your scalp well? Our scalp gets buildup from oil production, products, sweat, work environment, & climate etc. Make sure you are shampooing (focusing on your scalp VS ends) to make sure you’re getting a good clean healthy scalp and curl pattern formation. A clean scalp will allow for more volume at the root instead of weight of access oils/product which tends to weigh those tendrils down & feeling ICKY.
2)Do you have tangles?
One way to knock tangles in shower is to first condition upside down. Work in conditioner/masque by finger combing through hair separating hair as it starts to comb through tangles. You can also use a wide tooth comb to work in conditioner more efficiently or use a paddle brush of a couple of swipes while conditioner/masque is in hair.
3)How to Rinse out conditioner/masque. Some of you have luck leaving it in, some of you don’t, try different ways and document what works best for you. My favorite? Turn head facing shower, hair flipped over, and scrunch in conditioner with handfuls of water. I’m working in the conditioner & lightly rinsing it out at the same time while hair is still flipped.
4)Picture ⬆️ this is freshly washed & conditioned hair. This is before ANY styling products. Odds are if you can get your clumping like this before adding styling products, those curls are going to start to improve. The less you finger comb after rinsing conditioner the larger the clumps will be. Sometimes my clumps are so large I separate them before applying product. It takes trial and error to learn what your curls like and what they dislike.
I always say consistency is key because it’s IMPORTANT and this is also why I LOVE using Monat. ALWAYS a 30 day no questions asked money back guarantee. WE Have a full line of products if one isn’t working for you, another one will.
