Total offday in the race today . Hottemp, could not eat before the race, been working from 6 am - 2 pm, slept only 4hrs... guess it was a bad idea to race.. Can you tell that I’m chuffed that I’m carrying on? The only other time I’ve been to Scotland is when I did #lejog ten years ago, and we whizzed through because my friend had to get back for a wedding. It’s quite nice to cruise at my own pace, now allowing myself to stop and chase bunnies and other interesting things that catch my easily distracted eye. . . Can any bird lovers help please? A big, beautiful bird swooped over my head and soared along my path ahead before resting in a tree. When I passed the tree she did it again. And then again. I think she quite liked me. Her giant plane like wings whirred as they flapped and then she flew like a kite as she floated above the road. I don’t think she was a kite though. She could hover for ages without flapping her wings. I sort of felt a bit like Harry Potter, like she might of been my pal cheering me on saying ‘yeeehaaar Linds, you made the right decision to carry on. I’m gonna guide you all around Scotland.’ She reminded me of the little Willie Wag Tails in Western Australia, jumping from fence post to the next, when I walked the Rabbit Proof Fence. I was quite in awe. She made me gasp and stop, although it doesn’t take me a lot to stop cycling . . Would anyone know who she was? Between #lochtay and Killin. . . Anyhoo, my next route is seemingly coming together, thanks to suggestions- Mallaig, Skye, Harris, Ullapool, Inverness, Aviemore, somewhere, Ayr.... so, if you’re based in any of them or know anyone please tag them below or get in touch.
