Dancing because it's great to be alive. (It's also National Taco Day, and Zach and I have a fun little date planned). ––––––––––––––––––––––– October 5, 2017. One year ago today.  The scariest, and most exciting day of my life.  I went in for a very invasive, very high-risk procedure on my right lung.  I remember feeling like I was going to die before I went into surgery.  I remember thinking that if there was a 1 in 200,000 chance of my lung collapsing spontaneously–which it did– then, the chance that I could die in this surgery was way way greater.  I remember that I was scared, but accepted that it could happen.  I remember saying my I love you's to my parents before they wheeled me away. ––––––––––––––––––––––– Then, I remember waking up.  I remember coming out of anesthesia, tubes all sorts of devices plugged into me, I remember a myriad of beeps, all of different tunes that only someone who's spent days and days in a hospital will ever become accustomed to.  I remember a feeling of sheer ecstasy that I was alive.  I couldn't help but smile.  I even cried (a little). I remember telling myself that I'd no longer waste this wonderful life.  I was a survivor. ––––––––––––––––––––––– This last year has been the craziest ride of my life.  The highs have been so high, but there have also been lows.  This is me reminding everyone to dance if you want to dance, to dress up even if you're not going somewhere fancy, enjoy and live your life.  We only get one.  I am so grateful to be alive sharing a little piece of my story with you guys. ––––––––––––––––––––––– P.S.
