The color on these is so bright I can’t capture them very well in a photograph but they both started as white paper and my fingers may never be their normal color again. ✨Workshop reminder✨ This Saturday we are making hibiscus at @steadfastsupplydc and at @thelemoncollective on Tuesday! Tickets available now.
Nine years tomorrow!

If you want to learn more about the benefits of sobriety (or the lessons I’ve learned from it!), search “positively present” on YouTube, and you’ll find a bunch of videos I’ve done about getting and staying sober.

Sobriety’s not for everybody, but it’s been a game changer for me! ☺️
*CW: Violence* Last Thursday, a white man in Arizona murdered 17 year old Elijah Al-Amin at a gas station. The man said that he attacked and murdered Elijah simply because he felt threatened by the rap music that he was listening to. This is an example of the horrifying violence of white supremacy and entitlement. This man felt so entitled to control public space and other people’s bodies that he stabbed and killed a teenager with a pocket knife for simply existing while listening to music. It’s sickening and infuriating, and makes me so so sad. We can see this issue of white people’s desire to control and police people of color in public spaces elsewhere. For example: the woman who called the police on a group of Black people having a BBQ in a park in Oakland, California. The guy who recorded and harassed a group of Black women for drinking from glass bottles at an apartment complex pool in Hyattsville, Maryland. The guy who shot and killed Srinivas Kuchibhotla, an Indian engineer, while shouting “get out of my country” at a sports bar in Olathe, Kansas. The common thread of these incidents is white entitlement. White people do not get to determine the parameters of public spaces, and then police those spaces and the people in them if their expectations aren’t met. It’s totally unacceptable. White entitlement is violence, and it’s our responsibility to work to dismantle it every time we see it. #thesweetfeminist #sweetfeminism
These are the four things I’m most in need of today! ✍☀️
