WEEKEND BUILD SEQUENCE: I had the privilege to beta test the first Defiant 28 (@defiant_wings) last year. As a thank you, @rsshepard graciously gifted me the final production model this year. I’m ashamed to say that she sat unbuilt in my workshop for far too long. So with some prompting from @iwant2race, I brought the kit to @_nefpv_ and made her my weekend build. All I can say is that I wish I had built her sooner. My favorite flying of the whole weekend was this little lady’s maiden flight. (Video to follow). Without question, every hangar isn’t complete without a #Defiant28. As for us, she will stretch her legs every session—I like her that much. DEFIANT 28 MAIDEN FLIGHT: Don’t wait to build one. If you have the chance, build one now. I shouldn’t have waited. That’s on me. Of all the flying I did at @_nefpv_, this was my favorite, by far, in terms of pure joy and freedom of flight. She handles so well, whether in a full up-pitch unpowered glide or a flat-out power turn. The amazing wingtip washout design also keeps her from stalling too quickly, and just a punch of power brings her back to being on-rails (watch the controlled stall and recovery halfway through). Mad props to @defiant_wings @rsshepard @iwant2race for creating the most fun you can have in a 28” wing. I’m also grateful for their insights, patience, and equipment gifts.
