That's me in next to the cave at Tenaru Falls. Walking down the track, crossing the river 6 times then finally coming around the corner for the waterfalls to open up in front of us was worth it! I discovered how unfit I am! My poor guide, I'm pretty sure he was over it but he was lovely! As were the other guys I did this with.

LONG but important post ahead✨ I created The Grazette because 1, I like to share my love for seasonal food with people! 2, I was always looking for fun local experiences, but I was so over the crowded, uninspired festivals and the like. We live in such an incredible area, and I have no problem keeping myself entertained, but it’s fun to go out and do something different. So, every month I would spend DAYS searching for interesting things to do, emailing local businesses to see what they had going on. Most times I heard crickets.
Eventually I stopped the feature, because even after days of searching, I was coming up empty handed. Most businesses were either not going the extra mile to engage customers on another level, or they weren’t doing a very good job about getting it out to the world.
I know it can take some effort to do something outside the norm, but that’s why I’m such a huge advocate of collaboration. When done right, the juice is always worth the squeeze
I’m sharing this is because a lot of people that follow me are local and I want to start sharing unique happenings. If I see something in my feed that looks cool, I’ll be sharing it to my Instagram stories. And I encourage EVERYONE to DM me things that look interesting so I can help promote.
Another reason for this long post is because I know a lot of businesses follow me from all over and I want to help them make the most of their experience. So I’ll be sharing helpful resources/lessons every Wednesday in my stories!
This is something I’ve studied extensively for the last year & I’m very passionate about it. The 21st century has been dubbed the Experience Economy, with millennials leading the charge.
Hospitality and tourism/leisure businesses are the hubs and catalysts in our communities to help people connect offline and lead happier, more fulfilling lives. That’s been the common theme throughout my #FeelGoodForecast if you haven’t noticed
Us weekend warriors are looking for a little adventure and revitalization. And even on vacation and during our travels, the expectations we have of hotels and tours/activities are changing. (Post continued in comments...)
