Two months ago, I was working on a fossil hunt all long England’s Jurassic Coast. What you’re seeing here are fossilized Ammonites that all died during an anoxic event 186 Million Years Ago in what is now Charmouth, England. They then preserved into golden-or-Silver botryoidal Pyrite! This is the “Ammonite Graveyard” in Lyme Regis. Feel free to laugh as I tripped toward the end. These fossils are preserved ammonites that were living in a shallow-shelf sea not long after a major extinction event associated with rising carbon dioxide levels and global warming almost 180 Million Years Ago. Dinopark Family time! We went to the Dinopark in Münchehagen! It was awesome. Finally my son could see how big dinosaurs were. Instead of Dads little toys. They even had a Ford Explorer Jurassic Park style. Not screen accurate…but cool non the less.
