ADOPTABLE Lindy is loving, gentle, inquisitive and alert, eager to learn and explore, capable of bonding deeply and profoundly. While she’ll still need guidance and teaching, her earnestness and willingness will make her a joy for her committed adopters, to whom she'll respond with faith and devotion.
She has enjoyed a wealth of care and instruction from her foster mom, a highly regarded positive trainer.
She loves snuggling, and riding in a car. She is responsive and very treat motivated. She learned a down, target (“touch”), leave it, drop it, both shaping and recognition of certain toys which she will pick up on cue, paw, and others that engaged her mind and curiosity. Fully house trained, Lindy will bark to communicate her need to go out. When new people come to the door, she may announce their arrival with a bark, but then greets them with warmth and friendliness..
She's recommended as an “only dog.” Although she’s done very well in general situations around other dogs, she doesn’t do as well when sharing a home with another dog. Her strengths lie in being a devoted companion to people, and not to other dogs. She’s, fine on leash walks when she encounters other dogs - just not good at living in close proximity to them.
Like most hounds, she loves to relax, sleep deeply on a soft surface, and bask in sunlight. However, now that Lindy has completed her heart worm treatment, she is cleared for full physical activity and she’s ready for it!
She'll need a safely fenced yard, and opportunities to run and play. She needs a hard-scape fence that is 6 feet, as she jumps quite high.
Her behaviors with small animals like cats are unknown. She's not recommended for a home with children under the age of 8 due to her size and clumsiness. She's also opportunistic when it comes to claiming soft toys and other articles left around the house. However, she relinquishes her “prizes” gently and without issue. She is a young English Coonhound.

ADOPTABLE Chop One cruel person said "that dog is ugly...no one's going to adopt it." Let's prove her wrong, and make sure this wonderful dog knows he deserves to be loved no matter what he looks like. Please SHARE far and wide to help him find a loving home to call his own! (Regarding his eyes, they have been doing great with treatment! so he might end up not needing surgery - that's TBD)
He says "Hi there! I'm Chop! I'm a super friendly boy that recently has relocated to Virginia from Florida. I am a young guy with lots of energy and I haven't met a stranger yet. I get along with people of all ages, other dogs at one of my foster homes!
Don't let my eyes scare you. It's a medical condition and I am having surgery soon to fix them. They don't slow me down at all!
I do well in the car, with all other animals I've encountered so far (even ducks!), am playful and am not greedy with treats or food. One of my fosters even shared her snacks with me in the car and I patiently waited my turn for each bite.
I want to please and am eager to learn so you can probably teach me lots of tricks. I'm pretty goofy so I think you'd enjoy having me around. I'd sure like to find my forever home. I have a good life ahead of me and want to spend it snuggling with my family!" Available for adoption or fostering through @ddbblueridge
