CALL ME DOCTOR! The hardest and longest 109 minutes of my professional career, but I passed my viva. A 7-year journey in acquiring a life-long tummy along the way, which nearly stopped me crossing the finish line a number of times. Feeling a bit numb (and tired) right now with a very big on my face. To each and everyone who helped me along the way a big THANK YOU! It's finally time to drink (not in one go) the left over Bowmore Islay Scotch Whiskey (given to me after my Grandpa passed in 2008), a 2010 bottle of Chateauneuf Du Pape (given to me years ago by @mabzchina in Shanghai) and @moetchandon Champagne (given to me by Sean), not forgetting the real Cuban cigar from @charlielbooth. On-going (international) celebrations needed please. Ummmmm, what's next?

do we have to sit still for a long time to practise mindfulness? ♀️ i’ve been asked this many times, & the short answer is no ♀️ basically mindfulness is ‘paying attention in a particular way - on purpose, in the present moment, & non-judgementally’ (kabat-zinn). so really we can do this at any point in our day, when we are doing all sorts of things, if we want to #sydneyzen #doctorrachel
jet lag (technically called circadian desynchrony) is greater when flying east, partly as our average free-running body clock is a bit longer than 24hrs, & it’s harder to speed up the clock than to delay it. some effective treatments may include melatonin tablets coupled with bright natural light to help resynch (eastman et al, 2009) #hellosydney #hellojetlagmyoldfriend
