#dolltrivia In 1995 Jill Barad's dream (the CEO of Mattel at that moment) was to release a princess Diana Barbie doll. For two years they tried to get an authorization from the princess, but to no avail. She did not want to be commercially exploited in any way, shape or form. Especially as a doll. After Diana's tragic death in 1997, Mattel took into consideration the release of an unauthorized doll, but gave up the idea after Franklin Mint was sued by Diana's memorial fund. Instead they tried to persuade the fund and Diana's family to approve of the doll and even created two beautiful prototypes. Unfortunately a "small" mistake a Mattel employee made (they sent one of the dolls to Diana's sister without any warning and caused a traumatic shock) ruined the project. This is so unfortunate because it would have been such an amazing doll! Little Dolls Strasbourg is over and I'm slowly getting back to normal. It was an awesome event thank you so much to everyone who visited me and said hello or bought something from me I really appreciated your support and your love!! You were awesome! It was a really successful weekend I was so happy to meet many people from last year again and of course new ones! I had a wonderful weekend with my friends @angels._.place and @cybershopi - thank you girls for that wonderful time and your big big help! Without you it would have been impossible to get my stand ready and thank you to @tima_nagashima Who also worked part time for me I also want to say thank you to the staff of @salonlittledolls for their wonderful help during the 2 days. All members were so helpful, kind and funny the program was awesome and colorful. The event really improved a lot from last year!
