And then in spring this incredible wisteria blooms on one of the other houses in the mews ✨ Located in South Kensington, Kynance Mews consists of 33 residential properties. The entrances to the mews pass through beautiful arches which were built in the late 19th century and are Grade II listed. ✨ So, what are ‘mews’? In essence, they are a row or courtyard of stables and carriage houses built behind large city houses - they would have originally been used to house horses and carriages with quarters for the servants and coachmen above. Mews now have been renovated and are generally fully residential (and very expensive) in excellent locations with off-street parking. Houses in Kynance Mews have sold for £1.8 million, £2 million (2 bedroom) and as high as £5.6 million (4 bedroom) in recent years properties in the mews sold for around £130,000-£300,000 in the mid 1990s, what a difference ✨ Have you visited a mews street before or knew what they were?
