.beauty is in everyone .everyone is beautiful . .Being different is beautiful. #model @tamara.roeske a very impressive young woman with down syndrome - who is full of live , happiness and enthusiasm. From acting in movies to modelling and playing in an orchestra , she does it all. A beautiful person in and out , who is open minded and kindly to everyone. Which impressed me a lot and reminded me how fast we judge people in a glance and categorize them without giving ourselfes time to get to know them . Tamara does not do any of that . She accepts you as you are. #makeup @yvonnewengler #photography #fraukefischer #worlddownsyndromeday2019

“So where do the kids go that are slower?” My jaw dropped when a parent asked this question during a tour we had at the school where Viena will be starting kindergarten this fall. “Slower.” What did she mean by that? Maybe she was referring to the kids that can’t run that fast. Or maybe she was thinking of the kids that can’t write their names yet. My mind was running a mile a minute but then I realized I had to stop. I knew what “slower” meant to her. My heart sank as I began to wonder, would she be upset if Viena were in her sons class? Would she switch schools because of it? This was a kindergarten tour yet she was worried about where the “slower” kids would be during the school day. The answer she was given was that all kids have challenges of some sort and if your child doesn’t have any, they will be sure to find one for them because that is how they learn. I couldn’t argue with that answer so I stayed quiet. As the tour came to an end I began to realize that the only one “slow” in this situation was this parent. “Slow” in the sense that she has yet to learn how much a “slower” child will educate her child in a way that no teacher or school book ever will. When children have a child with special needs in their classroom, they learn patience and compassion. At an early age they see special needs peers for who they are, not what their differences are. They will learn to be kind which will continue into their teenage years and then adulthood. This is why I continue to advocate for Viena while she continues to find her voice. This is why inclusion is so important not only for Viena but for those lucky enough to be in a classroom with her. I’ll be honest. This year we’ve had some challenges with her classmates getting impatient with her and calling her names. It breaks my heart to where I question if I should send her to a special day class but then I stop myself, look at her big blue eyes that are so desperate to be understood and become even more determined to help these kids learn to love her for who she is so that when they start high school and enter the real world, they will gravitate towards, rather than away from, those who are “slower.”
El fin de semana pasado estuvimos probando looks para poner ejemplos sobre cómo ir vestida a diferentes eventos: Bodas, Bautizos o Primera Comunión.
Esta es una de las propuestas, que os parece! Terele Muinelo para @caperuandco
