There isn’t much to it other than just dabbing on colors and letting water do it’s thing! As always, I’ll upload the longer version on IGTV later! While I’m here, I want to address some more frequently asked questions. One of them being “what paper do you use?” Although I always list the materials down below in my caption, I think the main confusion arises due to the fact that many who are new to watercolor are unaware that there is a specific type of paper that’s needed. And that is watercolor paper! ‍♀️ Can you use other paper besides watercolor paper? No. That’s the simple answer. You may be able to get away with doing very light applications on something like Mixed Media paper, but that’s about it. The reason that you need paper designated for watercolor is due to something called sizing. Sizing is something that is applied to paper during the manufacturing process to prevent water from soaking into the fibers immediately, so that you can actually spread and blend your watercolor. So I hope that clears things up! Another really frequently asked question was how to keep your paper from buckling or warping.
