Saying goodbye to winter with a bang: the epic dress! Epic because making this dress was literally a saga. Started with Burda 117 from 08/ 2010 ... made the bodice, fitted the bodice. Made the original skirt, hated it, drafted a new one. Redrafted the collar facings to be able to use leather and have it drape just so. The leather, I loved the color but was too thick and had to skive the bejeezus out of it. Made the original sleeves but were uncomfortable and needed lining so I spent about one week to figure out the proper fashioning in 2x1 rib on my vintage Dubied, and knitted them. Got derailed and spent a week more perfecting my sock making skills on the same machine. Finally I managed to put the dress together and wear it. ... and it’s not too late cause I got an email from WATG saying winter ain’t over and I should buy some bulky yarn and make a jumper . I’m considering it ... with the speed I’m making stuff lately... it’ll be ready next winter. Or maybe not.
