Wanna know a secret? I haven’t shopped for clothing for myself at full retail prices since I started reselling. It’s been 2+ years since I discovered the bins and I have literally FOUND every single item of clothing that I currently wear. (With the exception of underwear, but that’s not to say I couldn’t find underwear if I needed to...) . I say FOUND because digging through the bins is like a treasure hunt every time. It’s not as simple as strolling right in to a retail store and dropping $100+ on a single item. You might feel exhilarated for a quick moment as you hand over your credit card, but do you how gratifying it is to dig through PILES of crap to find gold? To FIND that funky vintage blazer or to FIND that Reformation dress. To find gems at only dollars per pound! . Even before reselling I shopped at thrift stores, but I’d still buy clothes at full retail prices too. And of course I’m not knocking those brand new items with their hangtags and starchy smell. But if and when I ever move on from reselling clothes, I’ve now forever given up the bright fluorescent lights and intimidating salespeople. A lot of you may not know, but I worked for a large e-commerce company before I started my own. I managed a large scale operations where we shipped 12 pallets on a daily basis. Boooooooooooooom! Instead of having a sale when a local school closed they decided to do an auction. No one bid so I’m taking home 3 hallways lined with thousands of books for $2.08.
