Photographer Stephen Schaub, who was recently featured on #TheKodakery podcast, is partnering with @kodakcameraclub_roc for an introduction to 35mm film photography class and photo walk at @sovtarts on August 3rd. ⠀
These photos are from his series, Art Dreaming About Itself, which he created using Ektachtome film, a custom CNC machined multi-aspect pinhole camera (see the last image), and by cross-processing in C41 chemistry. Learn more about his techniques at the upcoming #KodakCameraClub event.

50 years ago today, Apollo 11 launched from the Kennedy Space Center. Recently photographer Alex Baker (@ratio_image) toured the expansive facility in Florida — capturing the whole experience on Kodak Film.
⠀
“Being born and raised in Florida, I was able to feel the presence and importance of the space program as a child. From watching the Challenger disaster while standing outside my 2nd grade classroom, to regularly seeing the many Kennedy Space Center billboards along I-95 while on vacation, to visiting planetariums on field trips and hoping to get astronaut ice cream.
⠀
When buying my first 35mm film camera over 20 years ago I never would have imagined I would have a chance to put my own artistic eye on these things that filled me with such wonder as a child. I knew I wanted to bring a nostalgic feel and sentiment to the pictures I took when I received the privilege of stepping through the doors at NASA. This meant Kodak film was going to be in my bag.
⠀
Now, as a half century of history comes to pass and a new dawn in space travel and human exploration is set to begin, I hope to be standing at the front to capture it through my lens and maintain the nostalgia that got me so excited as a kid. Whether it ultimately serves to inspire more young ones like me, or just document, Kodak film has been (and always will be) a key piece of my artistic process.”
⠀
Alex Baker’s work is now being featured in The Gallery at @Kodak_Center in Rochester, NY alongside historic NASA photographs that were also captured on Kodak film. See more at kodak.com/go/moon.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: I was hanging out with @willemverb in NYC in June and while we were on the subway we were talking about all the burnout that comes with Instagram. I told him I’d always wanted to start a YouTube channel because film was what really kept me interesred in photography, and it wouldn’t have been possible to have gotten into it the way I did without @mattdayphoto and @negativefb years ago. So for the last 5-6 weeks I’ve been working on my channel and honestly it has kicked my tail. I still have no idea what I’m doing, I completely messed up a camera review, and I’m still not sure one video we did is even usable lol. It’s been wild but the first video is live and it’d be sick if you checked it out. It’s about my first time shooting Ektachrome in my hometown national park. Link in bio!

One afternoon in NYC on #35mm. These photographs were taken minutes apart from one to the next.
⠀⠀
On my early summer trip to New York this year, I’ve shot over 20 rolls in a span of a few days with my Leica Rangefinder. Having never shot much a Rangefinder before, I knew this was going to be a fun challenge. I’ve been shooting a lot more since then.
⠀⠀
This came after a realization that I need to shoot more. I’ve been too comfortable on just shooting “landscapes” and my digital cameras. As much as I love beautiful landscapes, I want to capture more — I want to capture “life” and the things that surround us. When it comes to photographing life, there’s no boundaries as to what I “should” photograph. Anything goes.
⠀⠀
So here I am, sharing more photos that mean a lot to me that was taken within 10 minutes of an afternoon in New York City. Random, but these are real. It’s my life. All photographs were taken on #Ektachrome100 with #leicam6.
Time to clear out the fridge for some @kodakprofessional #ektachrome100 in 120! For now, I’m digging this combo!

Kodak’s own @stoffelmatt and @evyn_morgan each were given a roll of the new EKTACHROME E100 to create images with over the course of one day. Their goal was to test the film in different lighting situations with different subjects, all the while showing off the clean, vibrant colors, the neutral tone scale, and Ektachrome’s extremely fine grain. Here’s a sample of images from @stoffelmatt that were taken during that day and then processed and scanned by Praus Productions.
