The Roman amphitheater of El Jem was built by the Romans under the control of the proconsul Gordian I, who was acclaimed Emperor at Thysdrus, around 238 and was probably used for gladiator shows and chariot races. Until the seventeenth century it remained more or less intact. From that moment on, its stones were used for the construction of the neighboring village of El Jem and the Great Mosque of Kairouan. The ruins were declared a World Heritage Site in 1979.

I woke up on my birthday yesterday, and reflected on the year I have had. I got a beloved pup named Gloria. I fell in love with my best friend. My family came together to provide peace, joy and comfort to our dear Papa as we helped usher him into God’s care, and we’re forever changed for that experience. My life-long dream came true when I played in not one but three music festivals in Tunisia, and a sold-out concert to 1,000 people in an amphitheater in Amman, as well as meeting sooo many beautiful people from young to old along the way, sharing life and love. I made a big life decision by putting my baby career on hold to get a Masters of Performance at Berklee in Valencia, Spain, and I’m so glad I did! God is so faithful and He revealed Himself equally through the times of loss, of love and of change.
