Most things are forgotten over time. Even the war itself, the life-and-death struggle people went through is now like something from the distant past. We’re so caught up in our everyday lives that events of the past are no longer in orbit around our minds. There are just too many things we have to think about everyday, too many new things we have to learn. But still, no matter how much time passes, no matter what takes place in the interim, there are some things we can never assign to oblivion, memories we can never rub away. They remain with us forever, like a touchstone. ~ haruki murakami, Kafka on the Shore

Our trek training very early Sunday morning when the gate opens at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve; a weekly meet up we all look forward to because we always find a chance (somehow in between our huffing and heavy breathing as we increase our climbing speed through the countless stairs ) to chat and exchange stories with other mountain enthusiasts. Every single week as we get closer to a climbing trip we will intensify our trek preparation. The more we work together, the more grounded and connected we get and the stronger we become physically and mentally. It’s all about building and strengthening our core confidence as individuals and as a community of women mountaineers because we know that “the way up to the top of the mountain is always longer than you think. Don’t fool yourself, the moment will arrive when what seemed so near is still very far.” — Paulo Coelho
“Somewhere between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the mystery why we climb.” -Greg Child #Repost @landscape_nightscape

THANK YOU @fjallravensingapore for the beautiful backpack rain covers. “Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” – Anthony Bourdain #EnergyInMotion #EMotion #womenleaders #mountaineers #amazingwomen #camaraderie #movementofsisterhood #EmotionalIntelligence #powerinmotion #womenleaders womenhikers #optoutside #womenwhohike #amazingtravelbeauty #weareamazing #amazingtrekkers
To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him. ~ Buddha @renata_Janini #EnergyInMotion #EMotion #womenleaders #mountaineers #amazingwomen #camaraderie #movementofsisterhood #EmotionalIntelligence #powerinmotion #womenleaders womenhikers #optoutside #womenwhohike #amazingtravelbeauty #weareamazing #amazingtrekkers #amazingtrekkersclub #naturelovers #mountains #hikefit #celebratewomen
While we train hard and trek hard, we also try to meet when we're all cleaned up and rested...And we always take stock of the experience we've been through! The Amazing Trekkers who summited Mt Kinabalu together are already planning their next big mountain - - to build on and celebrate their choice to be courageous and strong! What they've learnt is that it's important to surround ourselves with positive people who'd cheer us on every step of the way! #EnergyInMotion #EMotion #womenleaders #mountaineers #amazingwomen #camaraderie #movementofsisterhood #EmotionalIntelligence #powerinmotion #womenleaders womenhikers #optoutside #womenwhohike #amazingtravelbeauty #weareamazing #amazingtrekkers #amazingtrekkersclub #naturelovers #mountains #hikefit #celebratewomen #livetotrek #wanderlust
Everest Base Camp Expedition (EBC)
28th March - 12th April
The walk to Mount Everest Base Camp is a monumental expedition and also life-changing. A trek like this is more than physical prowess and endurance -- the long trek and the stress that can come with it is also psychologically and spiritually demanding. We believe strenuous multi-day high altitude mountain climbs can bring on a range of emotions, plus bring out both the best and not-so-best in us.
Over the years, these ladies had fallen in love with the simplicity of hiking. For many, mountaineering had completely changed everything in their lives and they wanted to be in a supportive space for like-minded adventurous women. So these 8 dynamic women leaders decided to not only embark on a 100 kilometre journey, they were determined to pave the way for the next generation to become part of the conversation. This movement of exploration is becoming a phenomenon in the last few years, spreading around the globe - and our amazing women have been encouraging one another to get to the Himalayas to achieve boundary-pushing goals. But the real buzz for them comes from the journey of discovery and from sharing those magical experiences.
If you want to follow in their footsteps and see how far you could push your comfort levels; the mental challenge of withstanding being freezing cold walking at -20 degrees against 40 km per hour wind factor, skidding on snow covered tracks, then having to hike another 20km the next day for many more days; go to Everest Base Camp.
These ladies knew they would make it as they were with an incredible group of women who they could depend on for company, encouragement, support and motivation - to keep going until they get to the finish line TOGETHER.
