The art of communication is the freedom to speak your truth with kindness.
.
.
Nonviolent communication is direct, clear, vulnerable, and simply states the facts without putting the other person down. We can communicate our needs, makes specific requests and accept that the other person has a right to say no, or not now or come up with a compromise. Learning the art of communication is about residing in our truth, without having to convince another by attacking them. We can be kind while speaking authentically.

Whole fried snapper. I love eating and cooking with whole fish so much. When I first moved to America and only saw filets and the occasional salmon or trout to buy whole in grocery stores, it was so weird to me and really limiting to my cooking. My fave is baked in salt or fried like this with lots of beautiful asian aromatics, fresh herbs and lime. This one in particular is from @eplosangeles. The first time I went to E.P. & L.P. a couple of years ago I thought it was good but not in any mad rush back. Going back over the course of the past two years and seeing @the_lou_dad come into his own, it’s now one if my favorite restaurants in L.A. because it reminds me of the sort of Asian cuisine I got growing up in Canada. I feel this style of cuisine really only exists in Canada and Australia because of the ways these cultures integrated into the mainstream culinary palette and merged with the local fresh ingredients. Also, he makes the actual best Thai Green Curry all fresh, from scratch. It’s probably my favorite in the city. And insider tip: ask for the off menu szechuan fish (it’s ) If you haven’t been in a while I HIGHLY recommend hitting it up. What restaurants have grown on you and become favorites? Also, where should I buy more whole fish or try seafood in LA? Besides this snapper, I’m a huge fan of the sole at @republiquela and whatever whole fish @felixla has going on and any whole fish/lobster/crab from Sea Harbour in the SGV.
