Today I had the pleasure of installing this dried mantle piece arrangement for the wonderful Lizzy from The Social Gym. Lizzy works as a speech pathologist and spends every day helping kids who struggle to communicate and form friendships, in a world which is not particular kind to anyone who shows themselves to be a bit different. She is a gifted and passionate woman and it was a pleasure to make a little something to soften up her rooms. Everything used was native (except for the Phillica plumosa!) We had a fairly long and misty walk (well, fairly long for me !) on the mountain this morning but didn't find much to show you that I haven't posted already this month. But there were some lovely False Everlastings, Phaenocoma prolifera, Rooisewejaartjie, which are starting flower again. I thought they were lovely covered in rain drops. Flowering on sandstone slopes in the fynbos in the southern and southwestern Cape.
