Who would expect artwork at a highway underpass? Sixteen murals brighten the space under I-35 where St. Mary’s Street meets Quincy thanks to San Antonio’s Street Art Initiative. This Texas gal by tattoo artist Kelly Edwards especially captures my heart. The goal of the Initiative is to have local artists create abundant street art that is accessible to residents and visitors. Think of it as an immense outdoor art gallery. A wonderful use of an otherwise dreary space, don’t you think?

The Brady Bunch does Texas. This crew has been the best. They are all open minded and ready to explore. It’s fun hearing them singing and giggling in the car, watching each one enjoy different things, and seeing them all stick together even if they aren’t natural siblings. For those traveling here each kids favorites include (I don’t like using the kids names) Kid 1 (my 15yo son)-Alamo, anything history, and every ride Kid 2-(Brady’s 14yo daughter) she is tough as she is so go with the flow, but she does love rides and she seems to enjoy a good balance of chilling and going. Kid 3- (Brady’s 12yo son) any competition which has been lacking on this trip, but I am going to guess mini golf today for him and the swimming pool contests. Kid 4-(my 12yo daughter) well I think Dunkin’ Donuts and swimming for her. Kid 5-(Brady’s 9yo daughter) who can always be found tick tocking and giggling. She seems to love swimming and just being with the older girls. Oh and the high swing ride at 6 flags is apparently beautiful. We are led by Brady with his desire to be on the go as a minute can’t be wasted when we are someplace else. He is so positive and on occasion stubborn when it comes to changing plans. However he makes all of us feel safe and excited to explore this city. . Then down to me I try to find the balance between going going going and making sure every kid needs are met. Since I’m healing still I’m always the caboose on this trip however it makes it easy to count heads. I go from not hungry to hangry and I love finding unique places everyone doesn’t visit. . We are real people blending families yet you wouldn’t know it as we have such sweet kids. I’m eternally grateful for that!! Today is our last day. Though my pics will continue for a bit. We will be mini golfing, checking out the Pearl, and meeting up with Brady’s cousin. Then back home to wrap up school for these kiddos. I haven't properly showed off this pinafore. First of all, I made it (using an @littlepineneedle #MakeThriftBuy video); second of all, I bought the fabric at a thrift store. It turned out pretty great, and now I want to make ALL THE PINAFORES. They're great because they turn any top into a dress, you can mix and match them with different tops, and they're a little easier to make than a dress, I think. P.S.
