Improve explosiveness with this Med ball slam variant. By increasing the distance (6” > 12” box) using a light to moderately weighted ball, we’re simulating the athletes to naturally create more explosive power in order to have the ball return to them

The rear foot elevated split squat jump with knee drive is a great exercise to build single leg strength and explosiveness. This is exactly what you need for acceleration within that 3-5 yards distance. This means winning a 50/50 ball; this means being 2-3 yards ahead of the defender. You get my point. Add this to your routine. If it’s too easy, then add dumbbells.

Make sure you’re landing at the balls of your foot every time. This is also training for force absorption/deceleration.
