Chapter 4 includes 2 major sections. The 1st briefly instructs believers to examine spiritual claims, since not every teacher is loyal to the truth. Vs 1 explains what we are to do: test. It also explains why: the presence of false teachers. Vs 2-6 address how we are to test, in order to determine whether the spirits are from God. The use of the term "spirit," in this case, is not a reference to ghosts, demons, or other creatures. Rather, this is a reference to the attitude & approach of a particular teacher. In reality, truth only comes from the Holy Spirit, everything else comes from evil. There is no such thing as a "friendly ghost," as pop culture often suggests.’The reason for John's warning is given next. Believers will face false prophets, because there are quite a few in the world. If this was a problem when John wrote his letter many centuries ago, it's even more of an issue today. Therefore, it is important to have a way to test which teachers & leaders are from God. Vs 2-6 give details related to the difference between true ‘false teachers. 1 Jn 4:1–6 warns Christians not to blindly accept all spiritual claims. There are many false teachers in the world. It's important to carefully consider both the source & the content of a teaching before we accept it. John gives several tests, though his comments are not meant to cover all possible concerns. Those who deny Christ, His humanity, or who reject the basics of the gospel, cannot be trusted. Ch. 4 warns Christians not to accept every claim they hear. Instead, believers are to compare what they hear to the basic truths of the gospel. John then returns to the theme of love, explaining how believer ought to live out the presence of God's love in their lives. In addition, living according to God's love takes away our fear of judgment. In no uncertain terms, those who claim to love God, but hate others, are liars. #test #spirit #spiritual #spiritualwarfare #real #beware #caution #word #bible #God #holy #holyspirit #evil #demon #demons #liar #beware #falseprophets #word #cross #Jesus #truth #spirits
New video shows mega-church, tv pastor, Kenneth Copeland being confronted for owning private jets while preaching the gospel. The exchange between him and the reporter is something you have to see to believe! #Crazy #Unhinged

I can't stop thinking about this clip. This is why the country is divided. We're not on the same planet. Some people look at this and think the pastor is the moral person here and the reporter is the immoral one. I can't wrap my head around that. How do I relate to that person?

Say what you will about his fan base, I feel like Cole finds new ways to keep them hooked with the small details in the fine print.
Leaving a track on SoundCloud with the name kill.edward so that people look into the only feature in KOD is an example of that; and when it comes to the hidden gems, he’s one of the greatest artists/rappers to utilize that “tool.”
Another one would be to point out that two of some of his best songs were produced by reversing the sample of the other. Dropping out facts like this long after their release keeps people like us audiences hooked and connected more than we already are. I know I’m late but I just discovered this, and I found it cool as fuck, so bare with me.
Most of the people who follow me know I just recently got into J. Cole, and going down the rabbit hole of his discography I genuinely find 4YEO his best artistic body of work. 2014 Forrest Hill Drive, Born Sinner (FNL too) are also amazing albums but I feel like the first one is his best attempt to cohesively put a body of work. Storytelling is probably the first or second most important factor to me, so he really does a great job on that album.
What’s your take on the whole Forbidden Fruit is the reverse of Neighbors? And where 4YEO rank in your J. Cole favorites?

I’ve never had a lust or love for money. It’s just never been a passion of mine. I grew up in an environment were most of the people wanted to get money the fast way. I was laughed at for not having money in my younger days. I was more concerned and focused on getting better at my craft. I wanted to learn how to build things and I learnt from a young age that you have to work hard for the things you want in life.
I’m a very patient person and money will come if your great at what you do. Like “LL Cool J” said .

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been passively sleeping on J. Cole for years and it took me until the past two weeks to understand how wise this man is. I listened to Born Sinner and thought he was a good rapper but it didn’t take till listened to 2014 Forrest Hill Drive, and this - powerful - powerful - performance to get a slap in the face and realize the truth J. Cole is constantly spitting and enlightening his fans.
Drop the most powerful/real/raw J. Cole song you can think of.
