sorry for the radio silence over here - if I’m being honest I was waiting for spring we’ve been busy preparing the not-so-little-garden, growing the plants, collecting eggs, and waiting for our farm cat to have her first litter of kittens. Our sweet cat Baby became a mama on Thursday night! We were out for a night on the town with @r7reclaimed and came home to the farm later into the night. I popped my head into the chicken coop to check all was well and heard an odd screeching sound that was plainly animal but not quite chicken related. I turned on the light and didn’t notice at first the small pile of crying fur in the corner of the coop. Baby had birthed four little kittens on the straw, but she was no where in sight. They were near the door with a breeze blowing in and quite cold to the touch, still alive. We picked them up and placed them inside the store where we had already set up a tub, sheet, litter box, and food waiting for the moment they arrived. Thankfully she had them somewhere I could find them! The issue was they were tangled completely in their umbilical chord, wrapped around their legs and bodies. I wondered if she had decided to leave them behind not sure what to do; we intervened and carefully removed the chords ourselves, as the kits had already been cleaned. We left mama and babies for the night hoping for the best. When I walked out the store the next morning, two more had arrived! We now have six sweet kittens on the farm. Baby has been an amazing mama and spends most of her day sleeping - do you blame her?! Swipe for more cuteness! ❤️ #UATRfarm

I see your baby chicks and raise you some preteen ducks from the girls’ county fair.⁣ ⁣ My Instagram feed is overrun with adorable chick pics and it’s taking all my self-control not to pack the kids in the car and head to the feed mill.⁣ ⁣ Although in full honesty, what I’m really pondering are ducks. I’ll never forget the day my husband came home from work with a box full of mallard ducklings. At the moment, I was up to my ears in toddlers and homeschooling and work, but man, did they turn out to be my favorite thing ever. He was right. We needed ducks.⁣ ⁣ Our ducks flew away but every year, one special duck—Maggie—would return, bringing her mate with her. She would lay her eggs in the hostas and fight the barn cats for a space at the feed dish. We’d call to her when she was flying overhead and she’d come circling down and land at our feet. It was magical.⁣ ⁣ I’m thinking this might be the year I need ducks in my bathtub again, don’t you agree?

Holy smokes!! What a week this has been. This may be a little long, which isn’t like me, but oh well. It’s FRIDAY and I can . Someone asked me what my favorite signs are. And honestly ever single new sign I make is my new “favorite”. My trays don’t stay up in my house for more than 24 hours . Because of a few reasons. Mainly I get bored . I love love love what I do. All my friends know I go crazy if I’m not working. Like I would rather work than go on vacation. Lol. Totally kidding, but you get my point. I try to come up with new things at least once a week. So they become my new favorites. And then I get the “your package has arrived” email/text. Which means one of two things. It’s amazon telling me shipping supplies are here (yawn) OR I’m getting one of the AMAZING items from my favorite shops. And when I say this....I am completely serious and honest. Without these shops my signs and trays would be sooooo boring. I mean target can only do so much right? I’m so thankful for them all. So with all that being said.
