It's compelling when an illustration tells a story. Even more so when it captures and signifies a time and place. It has purpose. It has heart. It has substance. This is why I create. I'm given the chance to deliver moments that have reason. Drawings that speak to convey an expression of ones hope's, dreams and fantasy. It's about making the dreams a reality. A conviction of someone's inner most desires seen come to life
This piece was commissioned for @lamysdesigns with @shaynifiique wearing Lamy's #hautecouture with hand embroidery and crystal beading. Simply divine!. #mua by @khaoula_kmd

"Frocktober is the campaign that empowers women around Australia to channel their creative flair through their favourite frocks, all while raising urgently-needed funds for the OCRF’s innovative research projects that help to shine a light on ovarian cancer.
For a day, a week or the whole month of October, something as simple as the clothes we put on our back has the potential to start important conversations, raising awareness of the lack of early detection method, of women’s experiences, and of how we as a community can do more to support ovarian cancer research" @ocrf @review_australia
You can donate on the website at www.mycause.com.au and help raise funds and awareness.
This is my inspired #frocktober. Aptly timing for #springracingcarnival

Fact
I specialised in landscapes in my early years and painted with acrylic and oils. I would escape into the vast lands and magical forests. It was, and still is a love of mine. Fast forward to the future and I now find digital art is the new skill I have adopted based on the ability to manipulate and create various effects etc
It allows me to engineer a drawing of different scales at ease, and in conjunction with our ever so changing technology it has given me the opportunity to produce work at a much quicker pace due to my lifestyle and other factors
In saying that though, I still find nothing more fulfilling than putting pen or brush to paper. I think no matter what materials or canvas an artist may use, they are still an artist in their own right, gifted with a talent to be able to display their work in different ways
What's your opinion on digital art versus hand drawings?
Pattern play is sooo much fun. How's this for picking up inspiration from colours and arrangements that surround us everyday. Proof that art is all around us. (If you have just seen this post or started following check out the previous post to see how I re-created and manipulated a pattern from furniture and applied it to my artwork and illustrations). Ps. The background sketch is the view from my current hotel room ❤
