“The Chemo Routine” -
Many chemo patients have a routine going into chemo days to make the process more simple. Maddy’s routine is simple, yet effective:
1. Pack the night before with snacks, comfy clothes, activities & CBD.
2. Wake up at 6am to shower and have breakfast.
3. Leave by 6:45am to get into Santa Monica by 8am.
4. On the drive into Santa Monica on PCH, she applies numbing cream in order to ease the pain of accessing her port.
5. Arrive at Doctors at 8am and do blood work.
6. Wait an hour for the blood work to come back that she’s well enough to start treatment.
7. Start the first infusion about 9am.
8. Occupy her time over the next 5-7 hours while 4 different drugs are administered intravenously.
9. Come home and rest for the next 2-3 days.
10. Repeat every 2 weeks.
Maddy has a lot of friends and family support to get her through the chemo days.
