Bus Life Con: making this bed. Any other bus lifers out there just kind of spread the blanket and call it good? Some days Eric will crawl up and awkwardly tuck it in. The result is beautiful! Brian overheard Isaiah talking to a 14 year old girl about his life- how he is homeschooled, lives in a camper full time and sees the country. She was quite curious about how he schools and what that looks like. My brand new nine year old said to her: every opportunity I am in is a chance to learn. I go outside and I learn from the birds and from nature. I come to amusement parks and I learn about roller coasters. I go to national parks and do junior ranger books and learn all about the park we are at. Yah, we have workbooks we do too but I’m always learning and I love it. Zeke’s first trip to the mountains ended in him being Flight for Life’d to @childrenscolo! It was honestly one of the scariest moments of my life! So as you can imagine bringing him back to the mountains has been something I have been dreading for a long time. I didn’t want to put my baby boy through anymore than he had already been through! ﹏ Yesterday, after months and months of talking with our Pulmonologist we finally gather our things and headed to the mountains with Zeke and an oximeter attached to his tiny foot! I honestly didn’t take my eyes off that oximeter the whole way up to 9,500 feet in elevation! But Zeke as he usually does surprised me and did amazing and of course, he smiled the entire time which put all my fears aside! I am beyond thankful for Zeke and that we can begin to share our love of the mountains with him finally! We left our beautiful, green, jungle-like campground today! Metzler Park was gorgeous. It’s a county park in Clackamus County, OR in the city of Ecscatada. It’s about 50 min outside of Portland. The entire park has a nice, quiet, calming vibe that we loved. We had site 57, which is hands down the most beautiful site there! We had a ton of space and a heavy tree cover for shade. Huge, beautiful trees all around. The downside of that heavy tree cover was lack of cell signal/internet! + + If you don’t need to work on the road, and want to go somewhere beautiful and serene, go to Metzler Park and reserve site 57! There are other sites that aren’t quite as pretty that get signal. I go over those options in my stories, so check those out if your’e curious! Another downside is no sewer. There is a dump station. We can easily go a week without sewer. We used the bathhouses for showering up until yesterday when we realized we had only used 1/4 of our gray tank’s capacity! We use disposable dishes when we don’t have sewer, but seeing how well we conserved water this week makes me think we will try cutting down on the disposables next time. + + More about Metzler Park- it’s on the river and there’s a swimming hole and multiple trails for hiking and exploring. There are some really pretty tent sites right on the river. Many of the sites can fit several tents too, and we saw several groups camping together and having a ball! There was a baseball field, a playground and several pavilions for events. It’s a beautiful place with great camp hosts, and we highly recommend it! + + We got to put a new state sticker on our travel map today! We entered Washington! We will be staying at the beach for a week and are pretty excited! We’re also going to get to meet another travel family who departed from the same city in GA we did! We were basically neighbors without even knowing it, and now we’re going to be real neighbors for a week all the way across the country! Pretty excited about that!
