I’ve been doing martial arts since I was 7...but in my early years, I was never the star student. I blended in, didn’t talk much, and just quietly climbed the ranks at an average level. I almost completely quit right before getting my black belt. IMAGINE IF I HAD! But then, I saw martial arts in a new light. I got on YouTube and watched people like @chloedbruce create art using martial arts techniques and I realized what it could be! I never thought I could look like the people I saw online, but every day I put myself on the dojang floor and just practiced these advanced movements over and over again FOR HOURS. At first, it was awful. I had no balance, didnt have splits yet, and there was a lot of room to improve my technique. Now when I see myself, I can’t believe what I look like. Now, people watch ME to learn how to kick and stretch and it’s so surreal. The point is...if you want to do something...DO IT! People are so afraid to just get out there and be a beginner. No one wants to put time in to actually develop a skill. They just want it instantly. Learn to enjoy the journey. I can honestly say it’s more fun than getting there. Now I have new goals. I want to start doing some basic tricking, a little boxing for fitness, some conditioning to get that Hot Girl Summer body , and work I’m starting a business. The universe has a way of putting things into place at the right time. There have been so many times where everything seemed to be crashing, but now I realize it was only to make way for new opportunities. There were people in my life who at one point brought me joy but later did nothing but add weight to me, and the universe took them out of my life to free up positive energy. And at this moment...the universe is showing me tough love. It’s telling me to stop doing things you hate and put everything you have into what you love. It’s telling me to stop allowing external and internal sources take away from my light. It’s forcing me shed my shell and blossom into the best version of myself. It’s telling me to take that leap and KNOW that everything will work itself out. As I’ve been listening and doing, our community here on Instagram has gone up by almost 1000 beautiful people in just one week. If things seem dark now, clear your mind and listen to what your heart says. Don’t ignore your call to grow into the next stage of your life. Don’t become a slave to complacency. #motivationmonday
