My #mooniemonday post is also a belated #transvisibility day tribute to the first cartoon trans girl I ever saw back in 1997 via bootleg flea market VHS’s - #fisheye As someone who struggled for years(and years) with gender dysphoria, I let a deep shame consume so much of my mental space, mess with and fuck up but not limited to: health, relationships, career, self worth - nothing is untouched when u experience such a deep schism with how ur perceived/received, how u look on the outside, ur shape and how u feel inside I look back at the various times throughout my life I would shrink or expand based on, well to quote #jillsolloway “the more femme u are - the less people trust you” and I know for me the more femme I am the less people generally respond positively I’m glad kids today have language, can talk about things with (some) trusting adults and have examples in culture to turn to and help understand themselves better Fisheye is a typical 90s problematic character but I still love her for that imperfection, gives us something to discuss ❤️ #sailormoon #girltoypower #magicalgirl #petitchara
