2018 has been a long competition year hands down- the biggest hurdle for me was mental. In short, I missed my pro card by ONE placing FOUR TIMES IN A ROW this year . Honestly, it was weird because on one hand I was so so grateful and proud of each package I brought, but on the other it was like- why aren’t I good enough you know? Haha

After USAs in Vegas, I think I really began to see that I was losing touch with myself and other goals in life- to be more spontaneous, to “live a little more” ♀️. I was wasting soooo much darn energy just beating myself down and catastrophizing that I didn’t have any left to believe in myself .
-
So, I took a social media hiatus and made a point to “relax” and do fun things on weekends. I went on mini vacations with my bestie @caseymfit , made a point be outside more, and got back into things I enjoyed like crafting (Christmas village in the making ).
-
I really think these little self checks helped to fuel my fire going into NPC Nationals. That and leaning on my people- the people who believe in you even when you think that you’re just a bag of stale, unfrosted cheerios ♀️.
Regardless of the outcome it was an amazing experience I’ll never forget . I’ve learned so much about myself through this process and fell in love with competing . My class had all beautiful women that were up there for novice and open each time 20 plus minutes!!! We all worked equally as hard on that stage. Improvement time for April . I’m not worried at all with @snjcoaching_lv as my coach we got this shit #ocbbikini #ocbofficial #bikinigirlstrainhard #icandycompetitionbikinis #theshoefairy #glamcompjewelry #confidence #determination #focused #goals #girlswithtattoos #womenwithtattoos #womenwithink #blackandwhitetattoo #krissydianetattoos
Wow... this is hard to post

February 2015➡️August 2018
.
.
Back in 2015 I focused on cardio, eating 1200 cals a day, and pretty much starving myself until I gave in a binged on Oreos and pizza
.
.
I wanted some damn results, I tried bodybuilding, I tried lifting some heavy ass shit and not being afraid of “looking like a man”. Nutrition became easier once I actually wasn’t scared to eat food anymore. I put in calories, I would lift, and my mentality grew happier with the progress and eating.
.
.
You honestly never see the difference until it’s right next to each other, who said bikini girls don’t have glutes? ♀️ .

Not all storms come to destroy your life. Some come to clear your path.
This is me, in the gym, starting my day & week in the best way.
For those who follow me as an IFBB Pro — I’m sitting 5-6lb above stage weight & feeling the best I’ve ever felt “off season”.
I’ve been on one hell of a roller coaster since I stepped off stage in August & through the rough times it’s here that I always find my strength.
I’ve been overwhelmed with messages since opening up.
It’s not easy to share publicly about having your heart destroyed but I’m glad I did.
So many of you have asked my advice on finding yourself again without him/her.
I’m no expert & this is very raw so I’m still figuring it out for myself but here’s where I’m starting —
❤︎ STOP trying to understand the situation/person. You’ll drive yourself insane trying to comprehend someone’s lying/cheating/dishonesty.
Let them live with what they’ve done (if they can manage to locate their conscience) & know you deserve better.
❤︎ Invest in yourself the way you invested in them & your relationship, most likely at your own expense.
You can never get back what they’ve taken. Don’t use that to feel like a victim — Use that to take back your POWER & pour your time, love, & energy into YOU.
❤︎ Remember what makes you YOU. Find yourself again in your hobbies, passions, friends, & routines.
❤︎ Remember what’s REAL. This is hard. Don’t remember the good times, the connection, the future plans.
Remember the lies, the nights with no replies, the suspect alibi’s & the haunting screams of your intuition.
I found this hard to do until I had uncovered the entire truth & realized the magnitude of it all.
Change is hard BUT you’ve already fought the hardest fight.
Be KIND to yourself.
DO NOT lose your magic.
Keep believing in the goodness of others. Keep believing in love.
This is not the end of your story, this is just the BEGINNING!

Having or showing the potential to develop into something in the future (adj)
Latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness (noun)
Let’s talk about potential.
YOURS v. OTHERS
Your dreams, your goals, your VISION.
YOUR POTENTIAL— You MUST fall in love with it. You must BELIEVE in it.
YOU have the power to create it. Though people or situations may come into your life that drain your power, they can never take it.
There will be times when your power is zapped — those are the times you MUST BELIEVE more than ever!!
Left: March 2014, winning my @ifbb_pro_league Card at the @nzifbb Pro/AM.
Not pictured: Two years later, I was the first IFBB Bikini Pro from New Zealand or Australia to ever step foot on the most prestigious stage in bodybuilding — @mrolympiallc.
Right: May 2017, the biggest win of my career at @bevsgym‘s New York Pro!
I trained myself. I coached myself...
I BELIEVED in myself!!!
The potential of another, on the other hand, is the most dangerous thing you can ever fall in love with.
Think about it — We can all dream & we can all achieve anything we set our hearts & minds to.
We CAN all be great, but we won’t all be great.
You can LOVE & BELIEVE IN someone else’s potential with every vibration you have to give BUT that doesn’t mean a thing if THEY don’t LOVE & BELIEVE IN their own potential (something you cannot control).
The VULTURE & the EAGLE may look very similar, but they’re two very different birds.
The EAGLE symbolizes courage, strength & power — He is the king of the skies.
The VULTURE is far less romanticized, most commonly known as a scavenger. The vulture lacks the strong feet of an eagle — so he must be resourceful, eating dead prey.
Everyone has potential. But sadly, not everyone will fall for it, believe in it, or become it.
No matter how much you believe in someone they may never soar.
As you evolve through life & turn YOUR POTENTIAL into your reality, you must learn who to believe in & who to let go of.
SOAR with the EAGLES!
Believe it or not
there isn’t a single person
you need in this life more than yourself.
Put her first.

Between the walls of gyms & the walls of my mind the sport of bodybuilding has taught me more valuable lessons than school or university ever did.
Intellectual knowledge is nothing if you don’t know how to fight for, love & challenge yourself.
The real confronting lessons — where & how to find happiness, the importance of work ethic, how to keep working with focus toward your goals no matter what’s going on outside of you.
This overriding lesson this sport has taught me —
YOU must be the RULER of your own KINGDOM.
You can take that as mythical or as literal as you please.
Own your life.
Choose your goals.
Take action. Be proactive.
Take responsibility for your own happiness & success.
Nobody can do those things for you. Nobody can fix your brokenness but you.
The reoccurring theme —
YOU.
It’s all YOU.
March 2014 — March 2018.
Four years of learning, growing, evolving, confronting.
The most rewarding thing about coaching is never my clients physical achievements. The physical change is merely a product of internal growth.
The growth that makes one BLOOM happens inside their mind.
It MUST start there.

Motivational. Vs. Sustainable.
As a role model it’s important to me to share both versions of me & their respective message.
On the left I was right about to step on stage (May 2018). This was peak week which is the most extreme condition you’ll ever see me in. My weight was 120-122lb (54.5-55.5kg).
Achieving this condition for me typically requires training 6 days per week & cardio 2x per day, 6 days per week.
Nutrition is strict & typically involves moderate protein, low fat & varying carbs. My body is very responsive to carbs so that’s the macro I most frequently manipulate — At this point, I was carb depleted looking dry but very flat (think of muscles like deflated balloons my non-bodybuilding peeps).
Was I healthy? I wasn’t “unhealthy” but I would (very) likely become unhealthy if I tried to maintain this condition too long.
Was I miserable? Hell no, I love this sh*t!!
Each to their own opinion but I personally hate it when people post prep/competition photos & say something to the effect that they looked good but they were unhappy.
If I choose to prep & compete that is my choice. It’s also my choice to be positive throughout the process.
I personally thrive off challenging myself to push through mental & physical barriers.
I feel happy/fulfilled/successful when I’m giving my best effort at everything I do & when I’m inspiring others to do the same.
On the right (last week) I haven’t weighed myself for a few weeks but I’ve been sitting around 126lb (57kg). I’ve had to work hard to maintain this — my body typically wants to rebound to 135-140lb (61-63.5kg).
I’ve been training 5-6 days per week (I had just taken a full week off any upper body weights). Cardio typically 1x 6 days per week.
I haven’t tracked any calories or macros since I last competed in August 2018. I’ve been eating intuitively, with no restrictions but everything in moderation.
I eat clean most of the time, it’s not so much a “choice” but a lifestyle for me & something that makes me feel great inside & out!
In 2019 I want to FEEL great, LOVE this lifestyle & achieve in all areas of life not just on the stage!
