What is Athletic Structure?
Athletic Structure finds it foundation in the technical execution of ‘goalie specific’ skills, which are executed with the Body and Edge control necessary to transition in the crease with the ‘prime goalie’ physical qualities of Balance, Acceleration and Agility. @will.goumas CLICK BIO LINK FOR https://teamshutout.com/athletic-structure/

@goalies_edge_ student 12 year old Bronx.
Daily dry land shooting drill.
Bronx will shoot 100 pucks with players gloves & stick. Then 100 pucks with goalie gloves & stick.
As Bronx improves 10 pucks will be added each day. The goal is shooting 1000 pucks a day by the end of the summer.
Bronx will also take a few months off goalie training and train as a player. The goal is to develop Bronx not only into a puck playing goaltender but into a 3rd defenceman or fourth forward when he leaves the net to handle the puck.

And this is exactly why I put emphasis on:
1) Being patient and make the shooter commit first
2) Hold edges/stay on feet instead of being caught in the butterfly early/too long
Sorry for the shaky cam but the were wrestling.

Back to work with the @bauergoalie Development Series!
.
This week we’re doing a drill courtesy of my good friend and former goaltending partner @esgoaltending. The name for this one is... colorful so I’ll leave it for our YouTube channel.
.
Drill begins with a pass off the pad. Goalie recovers and shooter has the option to shoot or pass backdoor.
.
This one is intentionally “unfair.” Time to compete!
.
As always, full video is on our YouTube channel. Link in bio.

: @seanmurrayvanpfgs — “Here’s another one this morning from @beckwarm of @tcamericans Here we are focusing on edge control, lateral on ice rotation , RVH push while maintaining proper body weight transfer to move into save and maintain seal. You’ll notice on shots near the 5 hole the stick adjustment to bring stick face and rotate wrist to the corners but on these close in shots to the outside he’s not reaching and chipping at pucks that could possibly chip into net instead he uses the ergonomics of today’s pad that are designed to deflect pucks into the corner in this situation. To be clear if it’s a shot from out far we would have time to transfer weight properly with stick but in close, hard shots the puck will deflect nicely to corner”
Knowing exactly where your posts are is critical. Stopping on your post is especially important when getting into a reverse position but is also useful when you have to quickly get squared up for a play closer to the net. Knowing exactly where to hit the post will prevent you from rotating out, over sliding or sliding into the net. In this sequence we practice finding the post and then sliding back into a set position. This drill helps your spatial awareness around your posts and also works on your explosiveness getting out from the post position
In the net you have to expect the unexpected! Weird bounces for example... you have to be able to clear floating pucks from the danger area around your net. Pucks out of reach of your gloves should be swatted away as quick as possible if there are no other options and opponents are near
In this sequence we do just that. A little paddle-eye coordination is always a good way to end a reaction practice
