When I was in 7th grade, we had an assignment in class. Me and my group were supposed to put on a skit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the time I was the “weird” girl in school... I got picked on for the way I dressed. For the way I wore my hair. I got picked on simply for my size... so when this project came up, you can imagine how nervous I was! ⠀⠀⠀⠀ The role I was supposed to play was meant to be funny... but friends, when I got in front of the class to perform - it fell completely flat. The entire class AND the teacher stared at me and snickered, called me lame, and left me wanting to crawl under my seat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know how it feels to be different. I know how it feels to want to fit in SO bad, and sometimes you don’t even know why. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ At home, I was silly and witty with a personality as large as Texas! But at school, I stumbled over my words and frequently said the wrong things. Have you ever wondered why your personality can’t just shine through in every situation? ⠀⠀⠀⠀ So here’s to the quiet one who is actually anything but quiet. Here’s to the one who is frequently misunderstood. Here’s to the girl in school who wishes she could dress like all the other girls - you keep rocking that modest clothing babygirl!
