"Godzilla: The Planet Eater" English trailer... Gahd I can't stand how whiny Haruo sounds in the dub seriously... no wonder some people 'hate' him... that voice is grating. I've only watched the films with subtitles because the first English trailer put me off when Haruo was speaking... and since he's the main character, ya kinda need to tolerate their voice... But from what I've heard, the dub has him sounding like some pretentious and entitled whiny kid with an inferiority complex... Rather than a young soldier with inexperience and a lust for revenge disguised as self-confidence and unshakable determination, willing to be the scapegoat for humanity if it means returning "home"... I'm being serious ... and after looking up the voice actor, according to MyAnimeList, he got mostly for famous for parody series' as well as "Dragonball" and "YuGiOh" abridged series'... He's literally a joke haha. Ugh....Monday....does making it a Mecha Monday any better? Neh. But since we're on the topic, anime Mechagodzilla, (sigh). Am I disappointed we didn't get to actually see him used in battle against Godzilla? Yeah. Am I going to berate Toho and say the whole anime series is an abonimation? Neh. It sucks yeah but I do see what they were going for with the whole "evolution" theme of the films. since tomorrow 'everyone' gets to see "Godzilla" The Planet Eater" finally, I figured I'd repost this image... And as most people know (followers at least haha) personally I've enjoyed the anime trilogy so far, and would rank the films in the mid to high teens or low 20s compared to the rest of the Godzilla film catalogue. I've read enough about "Godzilla: The Planet Eater" to think I'll have the same opinions after watching it tomorrow. It's kinda hard not to view them as one whole production, rather than individual movies though... since the final 2 films rely on the character and world set-up of the first film... and the blooming psychological battles in the 2nd film need the 'reality shattering' events from the end of the first film to really hit home...
