Pan Seared Salmon with Creamy Garlic Dijon Sauce, have it ready in 20 minutes!

Tender salmon fillets are perfect seared until golden brown and lightly crisp then drizzled with a rich, cream and dijon based sauce that’s so flavorful!

Serves: 4
INGREDIENTS:
4 (6 - 7 oz) skinless salmon fillets
3 tsp olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 garlic cloves, minced (1 Tbsp)
1/2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 Tbsp dijon mustard (or a little more to taste)
1/2 tsp honey
1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1 Tbsp minced fresh dill

To prep this:

1. I started with a big bowl of arugula and dressed it with the juice of 1/2 lemon, 1 tablespoon olive oil, sea salt, and garlic powder. Investment: 1 minute.

2.In a small bowl, I tossed a handful of deveined shrimp in 2 tsp avocado oil, sea salt, smoked chili, smoked paprika, 1 tsp crushed garlic, and 1 tablespoon of hot sauce (use your favorite). Investment 1 minute.
.
3.Pan “fried” for a minute or two on each side on medium. Investment: 3 minutes.
.
3. Added 1/2 avocado seasoned with TJs chile lime seasoning and some pinenuts. Investment: priceless.

1 cup full fat ricotta cheese
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 Tbs sweetener. .
I whipped the filling up with a hand mixer while my pancakes cooked. Once I had them all cooked and stacked up, I filled them, wrapped them and stacked them up again! This recipe makes 8 blintzseses. .

Quite possibly my favorite dinner ever ❤️ Crispy seared salmon, crispy cauliflower gnocchi, and crispy brussels (theme: crispy team: crispy ♀️) It only takes 20 mins start to finish, and less than half that time from faceplant to finish because it’s THAT GOOD .

Do you crave sugar?

Here’s a few reasons why you might be craving sugar and what to do about it:
.
Increase your calories. If you’re not eating enough, your body will start to seek out high-calorie foods, like pastries, donuts, and chocolate cake. Just make sure they’re the right kind of calories.
.
Eat more protein. Sugar cravings can be caused by a blood sugar imbalance, so eating more protein can help stabilize your blood sugar and reduce those cravings. Whether it’s plant-based or animal-based, be sure to get enough! Eating a high-protein breakfast (30-40g of protein), especially if you have adrenal/thyroid issues, can be a huge help. It has really helped me eliminate those sugar urges in the evening.

Add in more fats or carbs. Restricting certain food groups (like fat or carbs) can cause your body to seek them out. We need fat! And eating sweet vegetables (like fruit, yams, beets, etc) can satiate that sweet craving just enough.
.
Stop eating sugar. Sorry to say, but the more sugar you eat, the more sugar your body will crave. This also holds true for processed foods and sugar substitutes (splenda, sweet & low, etc). These foods stimulate your appetite!
.
Eat magnesium-rich foods. Craving chocolate can be a sign of magnesium deficiency (especially for my ladies!). Add in some of these magnesium-rich foods like, sugar-free dark chocolate, leafy greens, avocado, nuts/seeds, legumes, fatty fish, and bananas.
.
Drink more water. Dehydration can often be confused with hunger! Drink up an 8-ounce glass when those cravings hit, and you might find you don’t need that sweet treat after all.
.
Get more sleep. Sleep deprivation disrupts the hormone, ghrelin, which is responsible for your sugar and carbohydrate cravings. The sleepier you are, the more you’ll tend to crave sugar! (cont in comments)....

Last night Farrah and I made these chocolatey chocolate chip brownies and omgggggg they totally hit the spot! When I have a craving for something sweet, I often want to run to the grocery store or the nearest bakery and grab a pastry, but I also know that I’ll feel better about knowing exactly what goes into them!

These were made with cacao, coconut sugar, almond butter, flax meal and vegan chocolate chips and they were crunch on the edges and soft on the inside ...just how I like them! I will share the recipe when I perfect it, but for now...you can all come over and grab whatever crumbs are left at the bottom of the pan! Haha! .
