✨This painting started off as a completely different painting, it was nice but I just could not get to finish it. I was reluctant to change anything in it because to be honest, I was quite happy with the result. It sat unfinished for at least 6 months. When I picked her up the same thing happened I had no idea how to continue or which way to go. I was lost. For me painting is a deep inner process, a portal into the unknown, so I was curious about what was going on, what it was that I could not see.. In the end I gave up trying to figure it out and I found myself sitting, just listening to the painting. Looking at her. In that moment something shifted and I felt the painting call out to me to just paint it over which in that moment felt terrifying. I certainly did not want to, but she asked me to trust that there would be a beautiful birthing on the other side of this painting over, in this letting go of the old. I picked up the brush and I made my first stroke, I was afraid but the more I worked the better it felt and a new story begun to take place. I listened and I followed. In the "eyes" of the painting I met a wild woman, howling with the wolfs and singing with the moon. Her eyes were glittering with silver starlight and her gaze was radiant and kind. She was dancing her way through the lands and as I listened to her, a face began to take form on my canvas. It shifted lots of times and many stories within myself were being unraveled. I was laughing now. The fear had lost its grip. She walked me through the inner landscape of my being, all the time singing and dancing, teaching me about the ebbs and flows of my naked self. She was nature embodied in a woman and oh did I long to merge with her. To reclaim my own inner wild woman creature. I felt thirsty for her untamed beauty, hungry for her pure enjoyment of being alive, longing for that same deep connection with my own body, my own knowing and the earth herself. As the painting slowly landed in the shape she is now, Magdalene blinked at me and I realized this was just the beginning, a small step, and there would be many more stories to come✨

This is such a beautiful truth. We are not here for the grand gesture, the grandiose recognition. We are here simply to be. To be the truth in all we are and to offer that truth to those who are in need. To support and to nurture. If we leave this world only having helped one soul, then we have completed a beautiful part of our being. No matter how small you deem it, it can be the very thing needed for someone to become all they are. To blossom and bloom, transforming their life and living its fullness. Sometimes it can be as simple as a smile to a stranger. An ear to another when no one else listens. A sentence that makes the perfect sense when all else has failed.
